Give God Your Story

Many know Job's story in the Bible. This guy goes through some pretty awful things. How often have you thought "I don't want to have a life like Job"? Many think that God had it in for him, at least that's what Job thought. Perhaps, it wasn't about this righteous man but about forgiveness and repentance in order to complete his story. Job's story is full of the deliverance of Pride. It's a story about going through a fiery trial, overcoming it and still finding the blessings of God on the other side. You do know that God never leaves us in the trials of our stories, right? He is always in it with us and sees us through them.

Our stories ebb and flow. Each of us tells a different story, some of kindness, some of deliverance, some of compassion, some of extreme struggle and overcoming those struggles.

Mother Theresa's life story was about compassion and serving the poor. Through her story, we can see how God loves to show compassion. He desires for His children's needs to be met and He did that through her servitude.

Think of Mary Magdalene's story. Her story was all about God's deliverance and we see her faithfulness to follow Christ because of His love for her. He is a delivering God.

What about Mother Mary's story? It's so impactful how she experienced a life relating to God as her son. She raised Him in all the ways a Mother knows how and she experienced the tragedy of losing Him in a horrible death yet she lived to see Him raised again. Her story is one of Motherhood. She was doing her best with God's miracle set before her. In a way, it was God entrusting her with a calling so profound and she faithfully cherished Him and saw this calling through with all her heart.

What about Jesus' story? His is a magnificent love story full of faithfulness and loyal love to His Father and to His children too. It's a story full of redemption and what great lengths the Father would go to in order to call His children His own no matter what they do. The stories of our lives all come back to the wonder-working power of a Savior who loves us and wants to be a part of our lives and tell our stories with us for His glory. How is your story giving glory to the King of Kings? What is the moral of your story? How has it impacted those around you? What does your story tell others about Jesus? Does your story need to make a few changes? Is it stagnant, not really going anywhere? What needs to change? Ask the Author. Ask Him to show you how to live little moments and big moments that lead to His greater glory through your story.
