Alignment

I've been experiencing major spiritual warfare lately. It has felt like a full frontal assault, and I've focused on putting on my armor every day — you know, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit that you have to pick up and swing with all the authority you have. I've come to realize that I can put on my armor, but if I don't believe and align my thoughts with His, it isn't effective. Where is the trust in Him and belief in the truth of His Word? I've often found myself trusting in my own ability, but let me tell you, I've felt no peace in doing that. When I rest in Him, in His authority and His ability to fight the battles on my behalf, that's when peace comes. I have to trust that He will do what He says He will do.

If you can't trust Jesus, then who can you trust? He is the most trustworthy person in the world. For someone who gave up His own life, fought your battles, died on a cross for you, and overcame on your behalf, constantly working for you to grow and to experience His favor over your life — even when we are such sinful people who often have moments of turning our backs on Him — yet He continues to do all of this out of complete and total love for us.

When I see the big picture like I described above and all the many stories in the Bible where He's proven Himself faithful to deliver us many many times in the past, I can be reassured that He's got my back and I can rest under the shadow of His wings.

It reminds me of David when he was hiding from Saul in the rock. There were so many Psalms that David wrote about how his enemies were after him BUT GOD kept him in the rock and fought the battle on David's behalf. God had the last word and David needed only be still under His shelter fully trusting in God's ability. You can read a little bit about David's troubles in 1 Samuel 23:13-29 .

I don't have to live in Shame cycles or enemy lies and he doesn't own our souls. Praise God for that.

It's interesting how the fight intensified when I bought some books on spiritual warfare one of which is called Spiritual Authority by Watchman Nee . https://amzn.to/3KTxlJZ I've heard it's good. I'll let you know.

Dive into His Word. Dive into His truth. Focus on Him. Rest in His ability and put your armor on. Come into agreement with Him and swing that sword.
