If Only We could understand.

I think about the chaos and state of the world frequently. It grieves me to see it in such turmoil. So much sadness and suffering happen at the hands of disheartened angry people.  People who need a relentlessly loving Savior.  If I could change the world, I’d start with loving my children, showing the heart and compassion of Jesus, so they, in turn, grow up and love their children the same way, hopefully breaking that cycle of anger. My children are grown now and hopefully I've filled up their reservoirs enough. However, it’s a fallen world and no one is perfect.  I know that God uses trials to build our character. Sometimes it can make you feel so utterly broken that you’re not quite sure you can be made whole again.  But God, He’s the great mender of hearts.  Job was broken and what looked like all hope was lost, God restored him completely.  God can do it. He can heal you.

You may feel like you’ve done something so incomprehensible that it can’t be forgiven but God gave up everything so that He could forgive you.  His only Son, whipped and nailed to a cross, took the punishment on your behalf to restore a relationship with God.

That’s what Grace is all about.  That hand held out for you to receive a free  gift, one that you can’t purchase for a price.  No one can. God REALLY loves you and His mercy is great.  His compassion for you never ceases.  His love is like pouring rain.  We can only fathom one drop but His love is an endless downpouring from His heart that never ceases.  Someone once told me “God loves you more than you can stand.”  Sometimes I just can't fathom it.

I think if more people understood His love then the world would be a better place for it because all you would want to do is honor Him with everything for loving you so much.

With His Love,

Heather
